After sweaty plebiscite or nerve-wracking jury session was announced last night at London's Curzon Soho, finally, the winner of Greenpeace's short film competition “Volkswagen See Differently”. The first prize winner is – drum roll -. “Pretending” by John Laidler and Andrew BorlinghausWe are pleased to announce a very well known at this point that the winners are from the beautiful Constance! Especially since it is Borlinghaus Andreas and John Laidler two incredibly likeable and is measured by the high quality of their winning film also about two incredibly young Constance.

The award ceremony yesterday have gathered the makers of the twelve highest ranked film in London's Curzon Soho cinema. After the screening of the top 12 gave John Sauven, campaign director of Greenpeace UK and member of the jury, the award – one made of old VW car parts unique – the two Deutsch prodigies. That the jury's choice has fallen on Andrew and John, is therefore also an excellent decision, because there were two genuine idealists at work there, where environmental protection and awareness means a lot. And it shows in her film as well.

The decision of the jury – said John Sauven said before the presentation of the award – founded on the fact that it “Pretending” excellently manage to find for the ambivalent nature of VW striking images: on one side, the company that with a huge advertising budget as a trailblazer in environmental protection stages, on the other side of the group, which pumps millions into lobbying against stricter climate protection laws.

After the ceremony

tell the two lucky winners, that they had got the idea to the spot in ethics teaching. The film competition has offered them the perfect opportunity to combine two things that they really care about: the environment and filmmaking. And also to VW, the two have a clear opinion:

With a dominant market share worldwide, the Group could modify something if he came into the aisles, and here the acceleration would pay an exception.

Andrew and John have of course not just a small statue made from old car parts obtained: Actual grand prize of the competition is the order to shoot with a budget of 5,000 pounds a campaign film for Greenpeace. We are looking forward to the next Director of the Constance work.

Until the public vote on the twelve best films and the subsequent jury's decision on the winners were a total of 80 films were submitted for the competition. In the cases we often stayed away the spittle: so much attention to detail as much professionalism as much creativity we had hoped, perhaps, but never dared to expect really. With a Special Mention
