Endich there – on the ship!
The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise is currently traveling in the Northeast Atlantic, to protest against the destructive deep sea fishing. Also on board: Yve Tiede. Here she talks about her experiences on board.Very top of Scotland, the Outer Hebrides, I go on board the Arctic Sunrise.Four weeks she was already on his way to detect very large deep-sea fishing trawlers in the North Atlantic, with their huge nets fish empty the seas. Your entry into the port of Stornoway I missed by an hour. Too bad, I would gladly have welcomed me. Now all have been working diligently on the deck and I need to find out first where I have to go.
But what am I doing here? A few weeks ago I was still in Unihörsaal and have listened to lectures on ecosystems and their protection. When freshly baked organic Bachlorette I'm pretty curious what will come here in the next few weeks for us. Ironically, in November on a ship in the North East Atlantic – this could be one of the most uncomfortable places that you can choose. Perhaps it is also one of the most interesting and exciting places.
At the end wins the curiosity: What will it be to live for a long time on a ship to meet the international part of the Greenpeace world and participate in a large project? Until now I only know the German office.
Know That you learn your own limits and perhaps even expand, can only makes it even better. Also has to save the earth or indeed anyone in this case, the deep sea protection from exploitative fishing
The recent actions of the campaign I have been following curious on the Internet. A trawler was found in the harbor, one at sea. Next time I'll be there. It makes me absolutely furious and I find it extremely irresponsible for the competent people who do not care that the diversity of the ecosystem is maintained. Who has the resources and levers, must ensure that in future there is still plenty of fish in the oceans!
Hardly
on board tells me Chris, who is responsible for the logistics, the basics on the ship. But despite cruise I look through the supposed chaos of the course is difficult. I usually never really know on which deck I'm watching: Are we heading to the fair up or down? And where was the same toilet?
The number 1 topic among the newcomers on board – stirred up by the vivid stories of the permanent crew – seasickness. This may indeed be cheerful weeks for the stomach! The Arctic Sunrise is notorious for its particularly strong at all rocking.
I quickly used the opportunity and I still bought at the local supermarket a large ginger tuber. This should be good against seasickness. Let's see whether it helps …
